Who are our listeners

Our listenership focuses mainly on CEO’s, entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs, speaking agents and event planners – all looking to understand how the world of influence is changing. In addition to those just at the beginning of their influence journey, who are looking to learn from the best in the world when it comes to creating a powerfully influential life.

As the Inside Influence team have a background in the speaking industry – a number of guests find their interview results in increased speaking enquiries. If this is something you wish to promote please let us know beforehand – we can then include information in both the introduction and shownotes.

“I’ve got such a great response to your podcast. Thank you again for including me.”

Ben Jones, Head of UnSkippable Labs, GOOGLE

“Julie is masterful at drawing out key takeaways for her listeners. As a guest, it was the most meaningful podcast I’ve done. I’ve received tremendous feedback from listeners reaching out. On a personal note, the fact that multiple speaking bookings came off the back of it was a bonus!”

What we need from you

In order to give you the best experience, please send through the following prior to your interview so we can make sure the interview process is seamless at both ends:

  • Emergency mobile number for any last minute issues
  • An interesting headshot or 'in action' photo
  • Links / details of anything you would like to promote

As an additional promotional opportunity, we also offer guests the ability to record a short video during the interview, answering one core question in their area of expertise. This then features in a personal newsletter Julie sends to her network once a month. Please let us know if you would like to be involved and we will send further information.

Face to Face Interviews

For face to face interviews we record at our offices approximately 10 minutes in a taxi from Sydney CBD and 30 minutes from the airport: ACS, Level 27, Tower One, International Towers, 100 Barangaroo Avenue. Click Here for a map.

If your recording is due to take place in person then you don’t need anything at all – we have all the technology and equipment set up and ready to go. If you require parking or have any issues with transportation let us know so we can support you.

Virtual Interviews

For global guests, we record using Squadcast. A link will be sent beforehand which will take you straight to the recording room. If you have another preferred recording platform then let us know as soon as possible so we can work to accommodate.

Please also make sure you have the following:

  • An up-to-date version of Google Chrome installed on your computer.
  • A solid and stable WIFI connection.
  • A quiet place to record with no interruptions – please do not attempt to record in a large, outside or crowded space.
  • Headphones with an inbuilt microphone – Apple headphones work great.
  • All phone and computer notifications on silent.

Interview structure

Although every interview is different, usually the structure is as follows:

  1. First 10mins – Meet and greet, sound and tech check, getting settled in
  2. Next 60mins – Recording

Interview questions

We work hard to make sure every interview is well researched. The style is always relaxed and in your sweet spot of experience – so no real preparation should be required. All the questions are usually in relation to influence within three areas – influential communication, influencing at scale and influencing our own mindset (dealing with fear, perfectionism and the stories that keep us small).

However, if you have the time, give these questions a little thought beforehand. Our listeners love stories, so feel free to bring as many real life examples as possible:

  • Do you consider yourself to be an introvert or an extrovert?
  • What ideas or trends are influencing your thinking the most right now?
  • What are the Top 3 things your experience has taught you about influence?
  • If I gave you a microphone, and a stage, and in front of you placed everyone you would ever want to influence. What’s the one thing you would want them to know?

Topic preferences

We would love to support you in promoting any current projects you may be working on – so please send through a list of upcoming releases so that we can make sure to include in our shownotes.

We understand that there may also be information you’d rather keep private, or remove as a topic for discussion. Please also let us know beforehand so we can support you.

Rescheduling Interviews

As studio time needs to be booked for both in person and virtual interviews, please provide as much notice as possible if you need to reschedule. If you need to reschedule within 24 hours of the recording date please text Julie directly on +61 405 028 488 - to make sure she receives your message in time.
